Dr. Risa Webb celebrates 20 years of service at UMMC this month! Dr. Webb is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. She completed medical school at UMMC followed by residency at the Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center. She completed an infectious diseases fellowship at UMMC and completed two years as an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer with the Centers for Disease Control. She also has additional certifications in tropical medicine. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Webb has established herself as an expert in tuberculosis, serving as the state and regional TB consultant for the Mississippi State Department of Health. She is currently serving as the interim hospital epidemiologist at UMMC. We sure have been lucky to have her these last 20 years!
