Dr. Neville R. Dossabhoy, Professor of Medicine, and the Nephrology Division Clinical Director and Fellowship Program Director, graduated from the Millsaps Business Advantage Program this month. The certificate course taught by Millsaps College’s MBA program professors gives working professionals a comprehensive exposure to essential business topics.

Tia Hayes is a native of Jackson, MS and has practiced in the field of nursing for 17 years. She currently works in the Division of Nephrology.
Dr. Tariq Shafi, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Nephrology Division, recently published the article “Resistant Hypertension and Cardiovascular Disease Mortality in the US: Results From the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES)” in BMC Nephrology.
Dr. Pradeep Vaitla, MD FASN, has been appointed to the Pancreas Committee of Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN). In this role, Dr. Vaitla will represent Region 3, which includes Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Puerto Rico. The Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network is a unique public-private partnership that links all professionals involved in the U.S. donation and transplantation system.
Dr. Adrienne Tin recently joined the MIND Center and Division of Nephrology as an Associate Professor. She obtained her doctoral and post-doctoral training in epidemiology with a concentration in genetics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Then she joined the faculty of the Department of Epidemiology at the Bloomberg School of Public Health prior to coming to UMMC.
