Several faculty and trainees co-authored an important study published last month in Nature Immunology titled “Variants and vaccines impact nasal immunity over three waves of SARS-CoV-2.” The article describes how the research group used single-cell RNA sequencing on nasopharyngeal swabs from both vaccinated and unvaccinated adults with acute COVID infection. This important study helps to drive forward data regarding immune and inflammatory responses to SARS-CoV-2 across varying variants and vaccination status. Co-authors included Anna Owings, Adam Parker, Ben Billingsley, Paul Dotherow, Spurthi Tarugu, Hannah Laird, Grant Wichman, Sai Kota, Yesenia Davis, Neha Dhaliwal, Yilianys Pride, Yanglin Guo, Michal Senitko, Jessie Harvey, Tanya Robinson, John Bates, Michael Garrett, I.J.
