Dr. Devika Das has been named Division Director of Hematology and Oncology as well as Associate Director of Clinical Affairs for the Cancer Center and Research Institute.

Dr. Das earned her medical degree from Grant Medical College in India, followed by internal medicine residency and a hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety from UAB, reflecting her commitment to patient care.

Dr. Das’ clinical focus is thoracic oncology.  Dr. Das also has a strong background in quality and safety.  She served as the Section Chief of Hematology and Oncology at the Birmingham VA Medical Center and has held key leadership roles within the VA’s regional VISN system and nationally. She has also served as the Director for Quality Improvement in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Florida.  As a co-investigator on numerous research projects and as Associate Fellowship Director, she has significantly influenced the field and shaped future medical professionals. With her impressive background, Dr. Das is set to lead the division toward excellence and innovation.
