John Tu, MD

Division: General Internal Medicine

Tell us about yourself. I was born in Taiwan, we immigrated to the US and lived in a Chicago suburb when I was a teenager. Working in clinical informatics, my career has spanned across Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, and now Mississippi. My wife and I have three beautiful daughters and we love to rock climb indoor. I enjoy working on home improvement projects, learning about robotics and astronomy, building models, and playing piano.

What are you most looking forward to working at UMMC? As the Chief Medical Information Officer, I’m looking forward to collaborate with clinicians and researchers on optimizing our Epic Electronic Health Record, and leverage Epic’s data to improve patient care, research, academics, and clinician well-being.
