Dr. Gabriel Hernandez is a University Heart interventional cardiologist who specializes in advanced heart failure and transplant and serves as an associate program director for the cardiology fellowship program.
Dr. Zeb Henson has been appointed Chief of Medical Staff for the university. Henson, formerly the Associate Chief of Staff within the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics and the Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program Director.

Sarah Glover and colleagues receive $2.99 million grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The project, entitled “A Global Pediatric Cell Atlas of Nasal and Oral Mucosa” seeks to understand the nasopharyngeal and oral mucosa in children living within globally representative communities.
Congratulations to Dr. Jason Parham on celebrating 20 years at UMMC! Dr. Parham is Division Director of Infectious Diseases, Executive Vice Chair for the Department of Medicine, and leads UMMC’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, which was awarded Center of Excellence Status by the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
