TENURE
Dr. Michael Hall

Dr. Hall is Associate Professor of Medicine, Physiology, and Radiology. Dr. Hall is Director of Cardiac Imaging and Associate Director for Clinical Research at UMMC’s Mississippi Center for Heart Research. He serves as Associate Program Director for the Cardiology Fellowship. His basic and clinical research, funded by American Heart Association and NIH/NIDDK, includes the translational understanding of how obesity affects the cardiovascular and renal physiology. He is co-convener of the NHLBI Heart Failure and Cardiac Morphology Working Group and a member of the Joint American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Task Force on Performance Measures.
Dr. Shou-Ching Tang

Dr. Tang serves as Associate Director of Clinical and Translational Research for the Cancer Institute and Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology/Toxicology. Dr. Tang provides leadership for our Experimental Therapeutics Program and clinical care in our breast cancer clinics, advancing clinical trials and actively strategizing development of phase 1 programs with the Natural Products Center on the Oxford campus and a variety of pharmaceutical companies.
FULL PROFESSOR
Dr. Ashraf Abdo

Dr. Abdo has served as Chief of Medical Service and Chief of Staff at the VA, along with his leadership role with the VA hospitalist service. He is the education coordinator for our residents during VA rotations and serves on our residency program evaluation and house officer selection committees. He has participated and served on many executive and leadership training experiences, including advisory, development, effective management, strategic improvement, specialty productivity, interview panels, and utilization management panels.
Dr. John Winscott

Dr. Winscott serves as Medical Director for the Vascular Lab and Director of the Endovascular Program, implementing an innovative transradial approach for cardiac catheterization, as well as a limb salvage program. UMMC is now the largest cardiac center in the region providing this procedure, achieving recognition by the American College of Cardiology as a best performer. Dr. Winscott regularly provides training and supervision for new cardiovascular programs and complex interventions for learners campus-wide, as well as nationally and internationally.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Dr. Carter Milner

Dr. Milner serves as Director of the CAR–T Cell and Co-Bone Marrow Transplant programs in our hematology/oncology division and the Cancer Institute. She has worked to promote these programs through development of new clinical protocols and clinical trial participation. Dr. Milner has also developed a new clinic for dermatologic malignancy care in coordination with our Department of Dermatology. She has served as Associate Program Director for our Hematology/Oncology Fellowship and is intricately involved in our educational program.
Dr. Elizabeth Paine

Dr. Paine serves as Director of GI services at the VA and Program Director for our Digestive Diseases Fellowship. She is a clinical care reviewer for the VA, in Jackson and nationally, and developed new clinical protocols, policies and performance improvement measures. Dr. Paine is the current President of the Mississippi Gastroenterological Society and a member of the UMMC School of Medicine Alumni Board. She is a part of our house officer selection committee and participates in the internal medicine board review course.
Dr. Patricia Stewart

Dr. Stewart has worked to promote our immunology and allergy programs throughout the state. Her outreach efforts have helped in the development of an upcoming “tele-allergy” clinic in conjunction with the UMMC telemedicine program. Dr. Stewart serves as Program Director for our Clinical Immunology and Allergy Fellowship and has served as a member of our residency review subcommittee, med-ped residency interview group, and CME Grand Rounds conference committee. Dr. Stewart is Immediate Past President of the Mississippi Society of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology.
