Over the past couple of months, we have been asked, “Are you ready to be finished?” That is a difficult question. Are we ready to start the next phase of our professional lives?—we think so. But, are we ready to leave this role? —not really. Chief year has been, as expected, one of personal and professional development. From schedule making (and re-making), teaching at morning report, attending on rounds, and even sitting on hospital committees, we have been pushed to do many new things. The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us to be flexible, to put it mildly. But ultimately what we have loved the most this year has been the relationship with our residents, faculty, and administrators. You have made our year fun, challenging, and rewarding. In particular, we would like to thank the program leadership for giving us this opportunity to serve. The medical center would not be what it is without your leadership and hard work. We will miss all of you dearly next year, though fortunately, the Zoom era shows us that we will always be able to stay in touch. Thank you for making this a wonderful year.
