Dr. Jessie Harvey has been named Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Harvey is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. She completed medical school, internal medicine residency, and pulmonary and critical care fellowship at UMMC. She was voted Intern of the Year in 2012 and served as a chief resident in 2014-2015. She currently serves as the Program Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Program, director of the point-of-care ultrasound curriculum for internal medicine residents and pulmonary and critical care fellows, and MS3 and MS4 Pulmonary/MICU Clerkship Course Director. She is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and American Thoracic Society. She serves on numerous departmental and institutional committees that include diversity and inclusion, resident selection, central line insertion and necessity, and COVID team for ethical allocation of resources. In 2020, Dr. Harvey was named Department of Medicine Educator of the Year, Internal Medicine Residency Program Teacher of the Year, and received a School of Medicine Trailblazer Teaching Award.
