Dr. Jasmine Kency has been named Faculty Lead for the Department of Medicine Grand Rounds Committee. Dr. Kency is an Assistant Professor in both the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics. She completed her undergraduate degree at Spellman College, medical degree from the University of South Alabama, and residency in medicine-pediatrics at UMMC. After a year as chief resident in Pediatrics, Dr. Kency joined faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine. She also serves as her division Education Coordinator for the internal medicine residency program as well as on the House Officer Selection Committees for both the internal medicine and medicine-pediatrics residency programs. In this new role, she will work alongside the department to coordinate topics, schedules, and speakers for Medicine Grand Rounds.
