University Heart has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain  ̶  MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award. The award, given to 262 hospitals in the country, recognizes hospitals who have demonstrated sustained, top-level performance in quality of care and adherence to guideline recommendations for patients with myocardial infarction (MI). The American College of Cardiology encourages participation in a robust quality improvement process, using data to improve care and outcomes for heart attack patients.  

“Under the leadership of Dr. Brad Deere and Melissa Stampley, University Heart faculty, staff, and especially fellows have taken part in several quality improvement initiatives that led to receiving this award, including sustained focus on discharge of patients with MI and MI documentation” said Dr. Michael McMullan, Division Director of Cardiovascular Disease and Professor of Medicine at UMMC. “This award is evidence of their hard work and commitment to delivering the highest quality in cardiovascular care to transform heart health.”
