Tell us about yourself.
I grew up in Mumbai, India, and attended medical school at Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals in Mumbai. Having spent most of my life in concrete jungles, I was eager to explore life beyond glass walls. After completing residency in beautiful and underserved Lackawanna County, I moved to sunny Florida for my Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Florida, where I recently completed my training and had the opportunity to serve as Chief Fellow.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, cooking, and occasionally playing with words and writing poetry when inspiration strikes. My academic interests include general infectious diseases, infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship, and planetary health.

What are you most looking forward to working at UMMC?
I am looking forward to caring for a diverse patient population, contributing to the education of medical students and residents, and growing into my role as a clinical educator. I am excited to join an academic medical center that serves an underserved population, contribute to its mission, and become part of the UMMC community. And, of course, I look forward to embracing the much-mentioned Southern hospitality.
