In what has become an annual celebration of scholarly activity by our residents, fellows, and students, the Department of Medicine will join once again with the Mississippi Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP) to host Abstract Day at the Norman C. Nelson student union on Thursday, October 25, 2018. We are very excited to have Dr. Danny Newman of Augusta, Georgia, join us as the guest speaker during lunch, which will take place after the poster and oral presentations. Dr. Newman is the current Chair of the ACP Council of Early Career Physicians and practices direct primary care. Over the last seven years, nearly 500 abstracts have been presented at Abstract Day; and we anticipate a wide array of clinical vignettes, clinical research, basic science research, and quality improvement projects again this year. We invite all alumni to join us for the day, which will begin at 9:30 AM and conclude at 2:30 PM.
