Pre-Clinical Professor of the Year

2020 Regions TEACH Prize Finalist

Dr. Zeb Henson (left), was awarded Pre-Clinical Professor of the Year by the School of Medicine. This award is selected by the sophomore class and given to the pre-clinical professor who fosters learning, exhibits exceptional teaching, and inspires the class to strive for excellence in and out of the classroom. 

Dr. Henson also has been named a 2020 Regions TEACH prize recipient finalist and was inducted into the Nelson C. Order of Teaching Excellence this year for the third time.


Clinical Professor of the Year

Dr. Savannah Duckworth (right), was awarded Clinical Professor of the Year by the School of Medicine. This award is selected by the senior class and given to the clinical professor who fosters learning, exhibits exceptional teaching, and inspires the class to strive for excellence in and out of the classroom. Dr. Duckworth is the Co-Course Director for Introduction to the Medical Profession I.


Carl G. Evers Awards

The Carl G. Evers Awards are voted on by the medical school classes and are awarded annually. The Department was awarded Best Department by both the M3 and M4 School of Medicine classes. The Department has won this award for over 10 years in a row.
