Dr. Jasmine Kency, Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, has been named Medical Director of the Office of Patient Experience (OPE). She succeeds Dr. Lisa Didion, and in her new leadership role, Dr. Kency will work directly with hospital executive leaders, OPE staff, UMMC medical staff and other stakeholders to sustain and grow work that supports patient and family centered care at UMMC. Dr. Kency completed her undergraduate degree at Spellman College, medical degree from the University of South Alabama, and residency in medicine-pediatrics at UMMC. After a year as chief resident in Pediatrics, Dr. Kency joined faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine. She also serves as her division’s Education Coordinator for the internal medicine residency program, on the House Officer Selection Committees for internal medicine and medicine-pediatrics, and as Faculty Lead for the Department of Medicine Grand Rounds Committee.
