Dr. Sarah Glover, Professor and Division Director of Digestive Diseases, has been awarded a National Institutes of Health Research Project (R01) Grant to study the innate and adaptive immune responses of the nasal and gingival epithelium in SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination. The project will include a multidisciplinary research team that includes mucosal immunology, oral biology, virology, and bioinformatics to improve understanding of viral-induced immunity in the oral cavity, nose, and pharynx with the hope to inform vaccine and therapeutic developments in the future.
