Sanjana Kapoor, MBBS

Hometown: Mumbai, India
Residency: Maimonides Medical Center, NY
Fellowships: Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, PA, and Transplant Nephrology at Montefiore Medical Center/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NY
Tell us about yourself. I grew up in Mumbai, India where I went to medical school after which I moved to Brooklyn, NY for an internal medicine residency. After three very enjoyable years in NYC, I moved to Pittsburgh for a nephrology fellowship. It was here that I was exposed to the transformative nature of transplantation in the lives of patients and developed an interest in the interplay between immunology and general nephrology which led me back to NY for a transplant fellowship. In my free time, I enjoy biking, traveling, and exploring local food and live music.
What are you most looking forward to working at UMMC? I am excited to continue my professional growth as a clinician-educator and researcher while serving the community here in Jackson!
