The annual Griffith-Pinkston Memorial Golf Tournament, honoring two of our late outstanding pulmonologists, James Griffith (“Grif”) and William “Chappie” Pinkston, took place on Friday, November 11th at Lake Caroline Golf Course and it was a beautiful day. Residents, fellows, faculty, sponsors, and alumni totaling 125+ participated, giving us the highest attendance to date! The money raised through the event supports our Trainee Scholarship Fund, which provides the sole means for our residents and fellows to gain the essential experience of traveling to present their scholarship. This fund has now sent more than 200 of our department’s trainees to regional, national, and international meetings to represent our department and lay the foundation for their careers. Thank you to all of those who donated and participated, and we hope that many more will consider doing the same when we hold the Griffith/Pinkston Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, November 10, 2023.
