Sarah Glover and colleagues receive $2.99 million grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The project, entitled “A Global Pediatric Cell Atlas of Nasal and Oral Mucosa” seeks to understand the nasopharyngeal and oral mucosa in children living within globally representative communities.

Dr. Parham is Division Director of Infectious Diseases, Executive Vice Chair for the Department of Medicine, and leads UMMC’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, which was awarded Center of Excellence Status by the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

– John Spurzem named Chair of the Department of Medicine Promotion and Tenure Committee

Dr. Beverly “Gwen” Windham has been appointed to the Clinical Neuroscience and Neurodegeneration Study Section at the Center for Scientific Review by the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Jasmine Kency has been named Medical Director of the Office of Patient Experience (OPE). Dr. Kency will work directly with hospital executive leaders, OPE staff, UMMC medical staff and other stakeholders to sustain and grow work that supports patient and family centered care at UMMC.
