Dr. Michael R. McMullan has been named Associate Dean for Student Affairs for the School of Medicine. Dr. McMullan is a cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also completed his internal medicine residency, chief residency, and cardiology fellowship training. He subsequently completed advanced training at Duke University in both adult congenital and valvular heart disease and in interventional cardiology.
Dr. Gabriel Hernandez authors paper in the Journal of Cardiac Surgery on heart transplantation in congenital heart disease patients
Gabriel Hernandez, MD FACC recently published the article “Heart transplantation and in‐hospital outcomes in adult congenital heart disease patients with Fontan: A decade nationwide analysis from 2004 to 2014” in the Journal of Cardiac Surgery. Trey Clark, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor in Cardiology, has been named Medical Director of Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) at UMMC’s Center for Telehealth. In this role, he will work with the telehealth team to revamp the RPM program.
Dr. Javed Butler, Chair of Medicine at UMMC, served as lead author on a White Paper published in Circulation that explored to what extent persuasive treatment effects on nonprimary end points can be used to support FDA regulatory claims and guideline recommendations.
