We are proud to present MORE education awards received by members of the Department of the Medicine, including Pre-Clinical and Clinical Professors of the Year and the annual Carl Evers Awards.

Dr. Richard Wardrop, III has been selected to serve on the Internal Medicine Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and as a member of the ACP Education Committee.

Dr. Adrienne Tin recently joined the MIND Center and Division of Nephrology as an Associate Professor. She obtained her doctoral and post-doctoral training in epidemiology with a concentration in genetics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Then she joined the faculty of the Department of Epidemiology at the Bloomberg School of Public Health prior to coming to UMMC.

The internal medicine and medicine-pediatrics programs had another successful year in the Match! The Department of Medicine is proud to welcome 37 new residents for the 2020-2021 academic year. The incoming intern class represents 16 medical schools spanning across the globe. Read more for a complete listing.

Dr. Michal Senitko, Assistant Professor of Medicine and Surgery, has been named Co-Director of UMMC’s Cancer Center and Research Institute’s Lung Cancer Early Detection Program. Dr. Senitko completed his internal medicine residency and his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at UMMC. He also completed an additional interventional pulmonology fellowship at Yale University.

Dr. Andrew (Andy) Wilhelm is a faculty member in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care. Dr. Wilhelm is currently serving on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic in his clinical role and is also part of UMMC’s COVID implementation team.
