Dr. Sarah Glover, Professor and Division Director of Digestive Diseases, has been awarded a National Institutes of Health Research Project (R01) Grant to study the innate and adaptive immune responses of the nasal and gingival epithelium in SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination.

Dr. Andrew Brown has authored a timely article in the American College of Cardiology magazine discussing burnout, wellness, and the COVID-19 pandemic. The article, entitled “Wellness For Cardiovascular Trainees in the Era of COVID-19” discusses Mississippi’s experience with the pandemic as well as national cardiology fellows-in-training (FITS) wellness data and potential actions, both systemic and individual to combat burnout.
